Golden Gate Park in San Francisco

Golden Gate Park is a mesmerizing abode to several gardens and museums. Located on a plush spot right at the center of the city of San Francisco. Spanning over 1,000 acres of green land; it was developed in the year 1871 as a place to relax and enjoy nature. Covering over 3 miles in length, the park is over 20 times bigger than the New York Central Park.

Things to See and do

The park is a place where you can easily relax and enjoy the view of several green plants, trees, lakes, gardens, picnic areas, playground facilities and other natural habitat. It is also home to several museums such as the California Academy of Science Museum and de Young Museum..

It is a nice place to just relax, enjoy picnic, watch penguins and sunbathe.

There’s absolutely everything here, from riding a carousel, to dining in the Japanese Tea Garden. You can also ride on a boat, see great art exhibitions and much more.

Golden Gate Park also has the Steinhart Aquarium, a Buffalo Paddock and the Botanical Garden all on this space. Each promises to provide the best experience to whoever wishes to explore the park.

One place you should also not miss while you are in the park is the Japanese Tea Garden, which coincidentally, is the oldest Japanese Garden in the United States of America. Here, you can just sip tea over some snacks.

Getting Around Golden Gate Park

The park can easily be explored on foot, or if you so desire, bikes are readily available for hire. On weekends, the park might be busy and parking spaces might be limited, so you should probably take a public car on such days.

Access to most part of the park is free, except for some gardens and museums that charge entrance fees.

The most interesting part is that maybe you’ve always wanted to hold your wedding at a place looking like paradise. You have the opportunity of holding it in one of Golden Gate Parks beautiful gardens. Amazing right?
