The History of Pacific Heights
Pacific Heights, or what is known as Pac Heights, is notably affluent with several known people residing in this area. The location it stands has a scenic and park-like setting giving the residents a panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz, Palace of fine arts, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The area features two parks with a maximum height of slightly above a hundred meters above sea level. The construction of a cable line back in the late 1800s made easy the accessibility of this area. The nouveau riche was the first to colonize this area back in the late 1800s. Diplomatic facilities are now a part of this region with a series of new architecture working its way through.
Attraction and Characteristics
The oldest building has a history leading up to 1853, however, a majority part of the neighborhood was built sometime after the earthquake in 1906. The neighborhood architecture varies with the common ones being the Victorian, Edwardian, Mission Revival, and chateau. Consulates from around the world have also set camps in this region. To the south of the Pacific Heights is where most of the restaurants and boutiques fill the streets with various stores including Athleta, Marc, and Ralph Lauren.
